synopsis
To avoid paying for expensive wedding ceremonies or dowries
exorbitant, the Peulh community authorizes the kidnapping of the future fiancée. This
tradition, the goufdé, has since deviated and is more often close to marriage
forced into love marriage. First victims, teenage girls. How
to challenge an established practice in a community that remains very
conservative and proud of its tradition?
Director
Senegalese director. Trained in the Africadoc Master (Gaston Berger, 2017 class). He co-directed the graduation film And Our Africa on Stage (Documentary – 35mn – 2017 – Senegal / Prix Panorama Saint-Louis en courts, Saint-Louis documentary film festival in Senegal 2017), with Mireille Niyonsaba, Oumar Bâ, Joséphine Legeay, Yannick Edoh N'Tifafa Glikou, Ousmane Zomoré Samassékou.
