THE SPECTRE OF BOKO HARAM
CYRIELLE RAINGOU
France, CAMEROON- 2023 - 75 min
synopsis
The terrorist group Boko Haram's strikes in the village of Kolofata, in the Far North of Cameroon, have been going on since 2013. Even if their exactions are currently rarer, the threat remains real; omnipresent. In this post-apocalyptic universe, a group of children in CP class adapt and reinvent themselves by juggling Western and Koranic studies, and the immense household and rural tasks that fall to them. This tragedy has as its main characters Falta, Ladji, Ibrahim, Mohammed, Ismaela and Maloum. They are all between 4 and 11 years old.
