The Scarified
Wabinle Nabie
France, Burkina Faso - 2022 - 65 min & 52 min
synopsis
Wabinlé Nabié is one of the last scarified. The scars he bears on his face mark his identity and testify to his belonging to the Bwaba ethnic group. However, he knows neither their history nor their meaning. His film is a quest that progresses from the memory of pain to the appeasement of a restored identity.
