Born in 1986 in Ivory Coast, Joël Akafou is a screenwriter, playwright and director. A graduate of the Higher Institute of Image and Sound in Ouagadougou, he has directed several short films, including Nourah (2016), selected in several festivals in Africa. His second film Vivre riche (2017) won a prize at the Visions du Réel and Corsica.doc festivals.
