RUSSIA, France - 2014 - 65 MINUTES
It is the story of three brothers, peasants, from a border territory between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, who immigrated to Russia to work. It is a film about simple people who nevertheless have a great inner strength, who take root in the reality that surrounds them, even though this is opposed to immigrants and appears hostile. They speak badly Russian, and in Russia, they are like dumb. The film offers us a chance to hear them mentally, and the silence of my characters is filled with meaning. The objective of the film is to see, what are these people like, and how do they see us ourselves? This film is my own attempt to overcome my ignorance and my fear of “others”, of those who speak another language and have a different culture than mine but who live next to us.
