synopsis

A village where women, children and the elderly reside. The men go nine months a year to Russia to work. In summer, a slow and friendly atmosphere; women make hay, cut grass and store for the winter. The fruits will be canned to be eaten during the cold winter. The sun arouses a certain laziness, a sensual relaxation. Autumn, with its different shades of red, is the season when potatoes are born and harvested.
Women and men find their privacy in the cold winter, which is why women give birth in October and November. Fathers meet their children in December. Preparations are now starting to welcome the men, the wait is long and tiring. Winter is near, a form of suspense sets in: which husband will arrive first? The men arrive with the snow.
Women are shy, they need time to exist in the presence of men. Children are happy to be close to their fathers. Spring settles in, the atmosphere becomes tense. The men leave for the land of the tsars. She is weak and sad, but needs to find the strength to take care of the children.
